So…why was Tan Yun unable to resist that trace aura? Why did the villain say his attack was weak? And in the Pill Pavilion when that level 4 dude hit Tan Yun, who is level 8 (or 11?), how was he able to push him back with a sword strike? I thought he said he was strong enough to fight a Level 1 Heavenly Emperor? Then, in that final battle, after having a hard time with his enemy, in a split second, Tan Yun becomes so OP he kills him with one move? Shouldn’t he have done that right away in the first place to save time and handle the pressing business faster? I’m betting this won’t get answered in the show.
This is what I hate about lazy storytelling: plot convenience. Tan Yun is as strong or weak as the writers want him to be just to fit the story. So whenever he says he broke through another level strong enough to fight a many-times-higher-ranked person, he never proves that until the last moment. Beforehand, he struggles like a mid-tier fighter versus someone weaker for no good reason. I guess the showrunners were facing deadlines, so they just do what comic book hero stories do in the West: write like the audience is too dumb to notice.
