7 minute donghuas usually have lower quality only really good ones are fine like tdg and mm and a few more if u have watched many donghua u should have the basic sense of a 20 minutes donghuas quality and 7 minutes donghuas quality

Pretty much just a budget thing. If you re-use the same intro/ending and take up a big portion of the episode with it, then you’re only animating 5’ish minutes per episode. If your group/studio can’t make it very quickly, or isn’t getting paid full time to make it, they go with this option.
I don’t think anyone actually “prefers” shorter donghua to normal length donghua. But some of them are okay. So people still watch them if they have nothing else to watch. There’s a couple I watch regularly, although I’ve dropped others that degraded over time.
Now that AI is getting spammed for the same budget concerns though.. best to keep in mind you don’t “have” to watch anything you don’t like lol. If it’s too short for your tastes, drop it. Good time to go back and watch older higher quality donghua you might have missed.

I was hyped up expecting 2 great manhua series animated this week… Unfortunately much to my disappointment… First they screwed up I am the Fated Villain, and now they screw this one up as well! I was hoping for RMJI or Beyond times gaze quality but got this crap instead!!
very short duration for each episode and typical crappy animation quality. Usually donghuas like these goes on for eternity and never ends. Martial Master for example, that donghua has been going on since 2020 if i remember correctly, could be even earlier than that. The story progressed so damn slowly that i got bored out of my mind. Just imagine, 5 min of actual story every episode, 2 days a week. The story hasn’t even progressed half way through after 7 years. I really liked the novel ,which is also only half complete, and i stopped reading it because it was not updated for a very long time. So i dropped that one entirely.
