xu ying’s parents are called xu jing and lan suying. they’re from kunlun. basically xu family is the one of the welcoming envoy lineage for emperors. they were persecuted bcs they’re undying but even undying only lives like couples of ten thousand years. honestly it’s a bit unreasonable but that’s how the ‘current’ immortal realm operates.

why xu ying won’t remember anything abt his background? he was sealed and cursed by 16 character immortal dao seals by someone called emperor lord. this guy is his archenemy. probably not the greatest, but he managed to knock him down.

what does xu ying learn from yuan tiangang? well other than sword technique and sword control technique, he managed to learn other stuff like his predictions. turns out yuan tiangang is a student of someone called shaman woman, who is currently living at penglai. it is an immortal mountain carved out from immortal realm, by xu ying himself. right, he didn’t remember haha~ cuz of the damn seal. funny thing is that when he met old adversaries, he didn’t remember any of them but they remember him very well. that’s why i hated this ’emperor lord’ guy more than other possible enemies of xu ying.

mc’s mom later was adopted as a daughter by one of the most dangerous character in immortal realm called immortal emperor supreme. mc’s mom later managed to be given some simple divine calculation stuff by that guy, but mc’s mom manage to deduce a very powerful method called past and future universe light sutra. basically making copies of herself in past and future time points so that she can calculate better and avoid others calculating her. btw mc’s mom is lan suying, mc’s dad is called xu jing.

it was known later that during his first life he didn’t want to ascend early but someone sent him his mom’s hairpin containing six ancestral secret method, the earliest and most abstruse version. basically is like soft-version of threatening and a way to control mc during his first life.

later mc somehow managed to go away from the given trajectory by that guy, which is why he was hunted and suppressed by immortals. and ofc, he was the great villain who destroyed the heavenly road and severed his cultivation 7 times and ascended 7 times, to make heavenly tribulation unreachable. this is why no one can become immortal during these 48,000 years.. and that’s how, by rumor, he managed to refine his undying true spirit. so that’s why he’s called everlasting immortal. he won’t die no matter what. his physical body and primordial spirit can die but his undying true spirit is somewhat immortal.

question here: is mc the great villain for stopping everyone’s path to become immortal? yes and no. i mean the immortal realm is a mix of sorts. there is no justice and fairness at all. if u got connection, u can just ascend even if you have not passed tribulation. so yea i won’t blame mc for this.

ofc, his undying true spirit is not perfect, not until later he will learn again from heavenly dao ancestral court the true method of making his primordial spirit undying that he managed to upgrade his skill. but before then he is suppressed as long as 48,000 years until he became muddleheaded and humiliated to the max without him realizing it bcs of some powerful seal and curse upon him by this guy called ’emperor lord’. this guy emperor lord, he used 16 character seal as a temporary measure since xu ying is unkillable. only until ‘now’, which is the beginning of the story, mc’s fate starts changing.

six ancestral secret method is the origin of nuo method, it is a way to open the so-called cave abyss/heavens. so this thing has several version. like literally the versions that will be obtained by the ppl in yuan shou world (the place mc currently live in) are mostly the version that can be harvested. basically they can’t be immortal since mc in his first life cut-off everyone’s path to ascend, so to prolong life, they harvest their friends, enemies, sect-mates, etc or even other harvesters.

nuo method is actually opening the six secrets of human body to connect to the void. since the mysterious void contains some mysterious cave abyss and mysterious dao method. depending on how you cultivate, you can become fattened like a lamb to be slaughtered or you can become very powerful. if u cultivate correctly, u can even open “immortal palace” in each of the secret realm.

after lots of turns and twists, kunlun mountain will appear and basically, the so-called six nuo ancestors will appear. turns out, six nuo ancestors are fake since each of them only have one secret realm. but each of them is very large. turns out that it is carved out from xu ying’s first lifetime body! oooo… damn..

ok so, at some point, ppl are convinced that the true nuo ancestor is xu ying himself at his first lifetime. since later he met one student of his that told him that he managed to get enlightened at dou shuai palace ruins and create nuo method or at least ‘perfect’ it based on ancestral methods.

the only suspicious point is that kunlun has a place called ten cave heavens. so.. until he meet yao ancestor, the oldest fusang tree in existence and he saw a method called ten cave heavens comprehension. it was further confirmed by emperor ai, during the trip to ziwei ancestral court, the place that controls ‘immortal ascension’ during ancient times. at that time, insight from the first emperor, called haotian, was regarding ten cave heavens and taiyi cave heaven. and u know what, his ‘ancestral skill’ is called ‘taiyi guiding skill’ or later when he managed to recover his memory it is called ‘taiyi primordial skill’. ofc after his trip to heavenly dao ancestral court, he changed it into ‘taiyi undying true scripture’.

so what’s lacking in his ancestral technique compared to this scripture is the enlightenment method to understand shangqing dao. they started from simple to complex, basically forming the so-called xuanhuang (remember, xuanhuang mu qi from shrouding the heavens? the no. 1 material to make emperor weapon that made ye fan most wanted since he somehow managed to built his cauldron from that? yes that’s the same stuff). ok but that’s for later.

point is, since there’s suspicion, he managed to get permission to recover the memory of someone who reincarnated called yunhai. turns out his senior brother called qingxuan is the true master who created six ancestral secrets and possibly the one who suggested the proposal of ten cave heavens or taiyi cave heaven. and point taken that, the so-called immortal emperor supreme is the senior brother of the disciples of qingxuan daoist. so yea is mc in danger? yes~ but ofc we’re waiting mc to jump out of the cage soon. we can’t wait. ok i guess i told u too much. haha~
