These types of comments are so exhausting! If you don’t like SoC then don’t watch it. Don’t bring it into a completely different donghua with a different principles of cultivation and different world building. The MC in SoC is fighting against entirely different forces and starting from scratch in a weak body that is essentially cursed and drained of luck or life-force without ANY fighting skills or knowledge whatsoever. He doesn’t even know the ways of the world or what is going on around him for so long during most of the 1st season. He didn’t even understand initially when [spoiler title=”SoC mild spoiler”] his life bridge got broken [/spoiler].

The only two things these donghua have in common IMO is slow burn pacing and character developement with phenomenal animation. Should I compare it to RMJI from the same studio due to its own slow beginning or RI which also started slow? Can we just enjoy each donghua on their own merits without this nonsense? The MC from SoC is also a literal child without a single companion at the start. This MC is forearmed with knowledge from his own world and clearly adept at fighting, weaponry, and the ways of the world. He is both intelligent and street smart. Each of these story is good in its own way.
