MC casually chucks in a farm of fruits that make people go evil-mad and pairs it with the strongest wine whose 1 drop previously made him passed-out for an year. 4 drops now? Sheesh.

So basically MC is now “shit mad AND shit drunk” to the point where he is enjoying his body getting torn apart, craves killing and feeds on blood and essence after mass-murdering armies.

Hmm, you know I’m not even complaining about his decisions or morality anymore and enjoying the shit out of this depraved slaughter show (much more than I should, ideally).
Coz if you think from MC’s perspective, the one managing the Heaven’s wrath / punishment, himself seems far more depraved. And MC is using anything at his disposal to just survive. It is literally survival – not that he enjoys killing people (honestly, maybe he does just a tid-bit :P). Even the armies he slaughtered attacked him first. The crazy world MC is living in requires him to be ruthless just to survive (without compromising his ideals and his Dao).
You know if we think about it, even our world is like this. We have to either bend to the self-created-rules of the (arguably quite ruthless and extremely selfish) ELITE (you know the ones orchestrating taxes, inflation, rich getting richer schemes, keeping them poor tactics, con-artists **caugh**banks**caugh** getting bailouts on the shoulders of masses) or just die of hunger and deprivation or taken down by police/ army who serve the elites and not the society. Only in thousands of years can someone like our MC come who has balls of diamond, body of tungsten and obsession of a crazy person who can make the ones in charge wet their pants and cry for their mommies (though only for a moment before they are slain – you know their egos can’t digest their doom until it actually happens).
What makes our MC really standout, is:-
(1) his giving-no-fucks attitude. He doesn’t try to preach or correct (coz talk-no-jutsu rarely works irl) the ones in charge. When your actions warrant your destruction, there’s no point of words anymore.
(2) his crazy obsession to get strong and constantly trying to push his limits. And when it comes to his ideals or people he cares about – bring it on MoFo.
(3) immaculate strategy and knowing when to advance/ when to retreat and when to submit/ when to slay.
(4) not caring about innocent small fishes when an evil whale is to be slaughtered. This is where his morality becomes questionable to many softies who has never experienced war or brutality of the real world. Is it moral? Depends on the details.
I think in this aspect, Han Li (RMJI) fares better. He surgically slaughters the whale after cornering it. But that makes his own progress slow and future justice delayed. Worth it? Depends on the details.
(5) not thinking twice to slay and rejecting any plea of forgiveness. The word Forgiveness does not hold a place in MC’s dictionary.
(6) the general giga-chad persona and not even trusting his shit to a peasant. This is a man who has had enough of the societal drama and doesn’t want to play the game but flip the board and throw away pieces.

You know what keeps a person like this alive – sheer f’king stupid luck. If at the right moment, right opportunity does not come, he’ll perish in no time.
So, the non-apparent point,
(7) Regardless of how much MC says he does not believe in luck and creates his own destiny, it is apparent that he has a shit ton of luck (maybe has a favour of someone way higher-up, who knows).

I personally think Han Li is a better MC who is more practical (and moral) and does not rely (much) on luck. And I don’t consider Wang Lin immoral either – I think he walks the fine line and is neither moral nor immoral. But the crazy ass things that Wang Lin have done and achieved? My goosebumps come alive and then start sweating profusely. My chills have chills of their own. And coupled with PEAK profound dialogues, PEAK bgm and PEAK animation – absolute cinema and a masterpiece.

Just last episode, Wang Lin was shit-talking to a demon ancestor while being on verge of death – lol. Han Li can’t even think about pulling a thing like this even in his dreams. Crazy is an understatement to Wang Lin’s attitude towards his own life. (Hmm, well he did have his final trump card of ancient god true body – so the shit talking is kinda justified).

Didnt think much at the start , but the rest of the ep just went up and up! unexpected masterpiece of a work 😀
