I read the novel too, but after the donghua started changing the story and censoring (and I’m not even talking about Wang lin and Liu Mei sex scene, I mean Wang Lin ruthless killing nature got toned down A LOOT like the massacre of the Teng family), Then realized Oh its Tencent, they always do this. Then realized most people don’t care , they just watch the donghua for the fun of it. After that, I stop caring and having expectations, because when it comes to donghua, they always do this, it will only get you disappointed.
The “BEST way ” for you to win in this situation would be to stop caring and just watch it and move on with other stuff. And then in 50 years think back to this day “Oh maybe there was a donghua was Xian Ni I watched many years ago, it wasn’t the best adaptation, but I am glad I moved on to better things.”
Most of the time whether they could keep the pace is greatly determined by the popularity of the series (which is equals to the amount of revenue that they can get back). Animating the same series for 5 to 10 years is a very big investment for the network/studio. If RI can maintain the same level of revenue for them, then you could expect the pace to stay at this level, at least until it’s at least three quarter done. Series like Stellar Transformation etc. had much pretty weak revenue and you could see that they totally dropped the quality and rushed the series.

We literally went from a supposedly backwatered colonized planet on top of a deceased ancient god body (amongst other things), out to a significant cultivation planet, then got sucked into a pocket dimension with higher cultivation than the average outside (at least based on how it’s portrayed), then got through the vortex into a new planet system entirely, which I’m assuming isn’t inside a pocket dimension too
