So I would they are following the novel like 90% accurately, some rushed parts but most of it remained the same. The only part that was changed was Wang Ping’s origin.
So it was a compromise middle-ground about Wang Ping’s story. But they didn’t even show us how Wang Lin turned that cloud of smoke into a little boy lol. Idk why that was skipped, he was supposed to use Ling TianHou’s sword energy to forge wang pin’s body.
WOW seeing Wang Ping , Wang Lin and Suntai live as a family was very touching. So YEAH Wang Ping is banned for both cultivating and having kids, cause he is a resentment spirit and can’t produced any offspring. Wang Lin made sure to tell this to wang ping’s future wife this. 🥺😔

I have nothing much to say really in this episode it was beautifully done. I’m glad we got a breather episode after the crazy stuff that happened previously tbh. Wang Lin kind of needed this and of course, it’s a part of his incoming challenges in life. RIP to old man Sun Tai 🙏 🙏 🙏 The peaceful thing about it is he died of old age instead of getting killed by some random ass cultivator out there.
For a largely battle donghua, I’m surprised at how well pulled this episode is
doesn’t feel like a filler at all or has less emotional impact than other episodes, and I’m most impressed by how they keep the mostly tight pacing just like any other episodes
say what you will about the general direction or changes of the source material, but it’s quite clear that the team deciding on the story beats adaptations are competent

If you are talking about the last part of the episode with the paint artystyle, i think that for the most part it was animated, the only parts that i think they used a little bit of AI was the moving waves, the animation was a mix between 2d and AI. 🤷♂️

i love those episodes.. if only they had more of those rather than endless fights.. with the risk to upset the die hard fans of RI.. might have been on pair or even better than Fanren if they focused a bit more on those.
Disagree. As someone that’s more into the cultivation/fighting/contemplation parts, having these “emotional” episodes spread out, makes them hit me harder. They’re pretty spread out in Fanren too.
I don’t touch any of the novels (same with anime, I don’t touch manga) but both RI and Fanren are in my Top 3 or Top 5 donghua. 🙂

I am probably 2-3x older than the average donghua enjoyer, and I don’t want RI to be filled with “slice of life” “worldly” affair donghua like so many that has plagued anime. A little bit is ok, but it shouldn’t be the focus.
I have enough of “worldly” affairs in real life, anime and western shows. When I watch donghua I want to be teleported to another world with excitement and adventure, I don’t want to see dozens of episodes about a father and son growing up a “normal” life.

Probably the most heartfelt episode of Xian ni, this is what i missed from the series from so long, non stop fighting, finally it give the fans some time to conclude a chapter of the stories.
A humanness aspect of the story for people to relate.
Old man Sun Tai really want wang ping to cultivates huh haha, goodbye Sun Tai, what a gesture from wang lin to let him having a grandchild before he go, so thoughtful.
This episode, it makes me think about my life too, growing old without any major achievement, maybe its the destiny of my dao path. Maybe i haven’t found to break-thru yet.

Good and tranquil episode. But the low framerate scenes killed it for me. No, they killed part of my soul. And it was almost the entire episode. The constant stuttering was truly awful to watch.
Many of you cannot see beyond 24 FPS. But 12 FPS scenes tear my soul apart.
