Because all that matters to us as a viewer at this point is a Nirvana Scryer has appeared, and WL is only at Coporeal Yang, its taken to long for it to matter how he got into the transition Stage now sadly. Because he is now facing a true 2nd Step.
and that was just the cultivation of 1 arm, before he started draining everyone.
Making the movie canon event, and not releasing it because of the perfect world movie, while releasing future spoiler RI episodes really messed the timeline up.
Now it seems less people are and are forgetting it, they just watching it now to focus on breakthrough to Nirvana Scryer.
