Look, I’m down for non-stop explosions and carnage, but there has to be something more to it than just that. The choreography was honestly just not it. With the flashing lights and everything blowing up every two seconds, I had no idea who was even hitting who half the time. It’s frustrating when the camera zooms in on a guy’s face and you’re sitting there wondering, ‘Wait, did he just land a punch or did he just get rocked?’ I really wish they’d realize that seeing the actual moves matters just as much as how fast they make that move
It feels like I just got done with a sensory meat grinder. While high-octane action has its charms and we are all here for it but there is a fine line between thrilling pace and visual incoherence
Even cultivation donghuas do this better. No matter how fast those fights get, you at least have a sense of whose move just caused the explosion
It was a very good watch but I was expecting more
