Was this prequel really necessary?
I liked it. It fleshed their relationship out a bit more and told us more about her bloodline. Also we’ve got the backstory of her now plus they introduced the dragon bloodline which will clearly come back if you’ve watched the post credit scene
I always find it kind of funny how in chinese donghua, sometimes dragons are treated as cannon fodder despite being mystic beings in chinese mythology
It has to be them playing with conventions the same way Japanese & western writers flip around the roles of divinity & demons every once in a while (I.e. which one is actually morally good in the story)
Which in some sense keeps things fresh I suppose
And not all variations of dragons are fodder anyways. Powerful and dangerous ones have shown up in Renegade Immortal’s more recent arcs

Its always in these types of xianxa/wuxia stories when there is an overwhelming enemy force and they say “oh, if you kill mc, we’ll back off for x amount of years” that when people start contemplating it, they never realise, they’re only saying this because they know even if the “good guy” side agrees to this and kill said person. not only are they just gonna come back stronger since they already have the advantage but they are also just going kill the ONE person who has a chance of saving everybody, LIKE WHY THE HELL DO YOU THINK THEY asked them to killed, ITS because they don’t want him to get strong enough to do deal with them permanently. And also MC is the only onewho can permanently close space time rifts, making it impossible for demons to use that entrance again
