I completely agree with this take—it’s honestly frustrating to watch.

Even if Mu Chen manages to sustain his Soaring Dragon Art, it still feels nowhere near enough to take down Mo Longzi in his Demonic Black Dragon form. The power gap is just too massive. At this point, the only way they win is through obvious plot armor, not actual strength or strategy—and that really kills the tension.

What makes it worse is how much the series has changed. Season 1 had a completely different feel. Mu Chen back then was confident, sharp, and actually felt like a protagonist you could root for. Now? He feels watered down—less impactful, less decisive, and honestly weaker in both presence and execution.

And don’t even get started on the design change. His old face had personality—it made him stand out. The new one just feels generic and unnecessary, like they stripped away part of what made him unique.

It’s disappointing because the series had such a strong start, but now it feels like it’s losing its identity. Dropping it at this point honestly feels justified.

So is there a point of this off-topic rant or did you just need to get it out of your system wherever?

i barely watch anime nowadays cuz its mostly garbage.. and ive been watching anime most of my life.. i moved to donghua quite recently.. like 4-5 years ago.. majority of anime nowadays is slop.. but i am afraid it doesnt look bright for donghua.. big studios like tencent are butchering 80% of what they get their hands on… 90% of the donghua that gets animation upgrade sux.. and recently another decent short donghua after having break of few months ”Alchemy Supreme” got completely replaced by AI.. it doesnt look very promising if they start doing this..

While i agree, the future of japanese animes doesn’t look brighter either. Last season was complete and utter garbage, and i already dropped 90% of the scheit in this season. And some didn’t even air yet.

Animes have become an insult to peoples intelligence! And they are using AI too for backgrounds for example.
So many animes where animation has become a rarity. When characters become still pictures that are shoved across the screen, to suggest they are moving. Its ridiculous!

And so many dogscheit animes getting a second season, where i can only ask in complete disbelief, why? Who asked for this scheit? Who pays for this trash!?
