IDK, I think Han Li from RMJI is the ultimate example of “staying calm and taking your time”, IMO.

Xu Yang feels less like he’s staying calm and taking his time and more like he’s so bored and indifferent about life that he just doesn’t care enough to get excited or hurry. I know that’s almost a distinction without a difference, but I think the character’s motivation and mindset matter at least a little if we’re going to make that comparison.

We’ve never seen Xu Yang hurry or not be calm, so it could be he either lacks those emotions or is incapable of them. If that is the case, then his staying calm and not hurrying becomes less impressive. Comparatively, we have seen Han Li hurry and we have seen him lose his calm demeanor, so we know he is capable of a wide range of emotions.

Knowing he can be or act otherwise makes Han Li’s ability to consistently remain calm and take his time all that much more impressive, and I’d personally prefer to be compared to him over someone who appears to perpetually be on a “hero dose” of Xanax and is incapable of displaying more than a single emotion or state of being, lol.

Have the “baddies” not realized yet via MC’s name, sect, cultivation methods, the fact they can’t beat him, etc. that he’s a literal DEITY in their world?

He stays calm and takes his time just like Xu Yang. 😅
