scale plays a big role when you’re in a higher dimension, a sword strike in the mortal realm probably contained intent and that’s all. in the immortal realm, aided by a domain and laws it becomes way more powerful. it was explained that in the divine realm spatial powers are used for everything even simple things like walking and flying then when you become a godking therefore mastering spatial laws, you start the temporal path starting with time acceleration. exalted celestial is basically a 3rd step godking on paper but more than that in reality. so those attacks probably contained large amounts of space and time laws that qin yu could not bare with. him even lasting that long is a very good testament of his talent and combat power atm especially since he was able to perform a “space-time” stop (fundamental difference with reg time stop) that actually stopped thunder punishment (all thanks to his specialcultivationtechnique). and idk why lei fa didn’t use time reversal to bring his son back, maybe there’re other politics/karmic reactions in play for using time reversal like that.
but all being said i get why you’d think it was that simple an attack and why you think he won’t die from it.
