I like that we got to XY/LD close to final forms finally now. What has annoyed me is the direction this episode took. Either show us her fight, or his enlightenment, dont cross both, because all it serves to tell us is that she is going to get beaten up [meaning why watch those parts], and he will turn up last second [typical mc behaviour, and her fight is meaningless], because he will of just finished his enlightenment.
Either way it should of been split into 2 episodes for the viewer to want to focus on her fight and then his cultivation to step in after. So there isnt this feeling of half the episode doesnt matter.

Yeah this shit pisses me off so much I just made a comment that this studio likes to do this a lot with btth and that split perspective just lets you know that one event is more important than the other and it makes watching the other event feel like a waste of time because what happens in one event is going to be the immediate solution to the other event

has anyone noticed that this particular animation studio, responsible for all the connected stories battle though the heaven, martial universe and the great ruler, they constantly use the tactic they used in this episode, if something particularly dramatic is happening in the episode and its leading to something like the main character coming to handle business, they take forever to get to it. While someone else is in a life or death situation or handling the enemy, MC is either preparing, indisposed like cultivating or healing from something that will make him stronger, flying to location as fast as possible or getting an opportunity for greater power and then finally they don’t arrive until the very last second of the episode.
And sometimes its really fuckin aggregious like this episode where you just see him silouhuetted in the clounds or the end of the episode where Xiao Yan reaches dou sheng. OH MY GOSH, do i hate this shit, partly because they’ve done it so much that I can actually recognise when its about to happen and this studio likes to do it way too much, I didn’t notice it that much with martial universe but definitely this show and btth
Pisses me off just realising half way through the episode that asbolutely fucking nothis going to happen this episode and its only setting up the next episode
