I mean if we are being honest he is nowhere near close enough to do anything that crazy yet. I do love the lessons that he is getting in this episode, at least nothing major and serious is happening atm but damn he really had to learn a lot of stuff on this one. It’s saying that the mute grandpa gave him a sword ball that would allow him to win the village chief… The sword ball seems to be made using the essence (Qi) of various metals, abandoning the form of the metals. This allows him to integrate into his martial arts, knife arts and sword arts with obstruction. But in the end he didn’t use it because the village chief didn’t use any weapon, so it wasn’t fair if he used it.
It’s was supposed to happen in the middle of the episode, I guess they fixed it to fit the storyline.
So in the books, Muer did fight endlessly with grandpa chief and lost all the time, he went into seclusion to understand the sword path better, when he came back, Mute gave him the weapon orb to fight chief, (with it he will surely win, even grandpa chief was worried and mad at mute for doing that) however, Muer refused to use it since he wanted to win without external factors, even complehended the second move of the sword path and tried to integrate it with the one from Empire prosecutor.
So I am guessing they decided to fix it at end. Looks like an adjustment at later stages before releasing the episode to the public domain.

I’ve read the novel up to the chapter 500 (which is around twice the content adapted by the donghua as of now).
And my suggestion is to keep watching donghua without spoiling yourself anything.
ToHG donghua is very faithful to the source material so you won’t miss out on anything. However the visuals add so much flavour to the story, mainly because in the novel, author doesn’t like to mice with words when descring the environment.
Normally you’d expect that the novel has more detail than the donghua, but I think it’s the opposite here.
And lastly, the last 200 chapters of the novel don’t have a translation, so there is that too.
