True, Renegade immortal was ruined by the studio it had immense potential, all they had to do is closely follow the novel and keep the pacing little slow. becuase R.I novel is already a fast paced novel… they even speed up the story rather than slowing it down (donghua adaptation).

it’s simply the fault of extremely fast pacing and unnecessary skipping by the studio which made people think that…
on the other side RJMI studio outperformed the novel.. they made it better… they took it to the next level…this is what studio should do….
that what it should be, if the novel is good than the Studio gotta go far and beyond what the novel can do in more of a visual adaptation. go wild and heavy. take the novel to another level.
what did they skip? as a Donghua only watcher I think its amazing
there are countless scenes that were skipped, i’m gonna tell you one mini arc that were skipped.
how come wang lin’s Restriction/Formation knowledge is on par with Li Yuan? how did he became so proficient in restrictions?
well when Yao Xioxio( blood Ancestor’s daughter) took wang lin to explore a cave left by a celestial in exchange of fake Blood Pills.
after he successfully has passed the trial there were 3 ways.
in which in the 2 paths restrictions were already broken. 1 by brute force and one by someone with great knowledge of restrictions(1.#info). so wang lin chose 3rd path all restrictions were intact ( it implies treasures to this path were not taken).
He spends whole two months deducing and learning restriction. his eyes were bloodshot because it required immense concentration. he had learnt many restrictions here. this is where he became so proficent in Restrictions.
this mini arc was completely skipped. this is just one mini arc …. there was another part where he learns restrictions too …. in the donghua he just became restriction/formation master out of thin air.
To be fair, I think they explain his restriction mastery in the donghua back when he went into the ancient god body. He spent several years deciphering and empowering all those restrictions, and then with the ancient god inheritance that gives him knowledge and memories, along with implied improvements off screen through out the years, you can accept his mastery for what it is.
That being said, even as a donghua only watcher, I’m almost never a fan of adaptations cutting too much stuff from stories I enjoy, so I agree it’s a shame they cut mini arcs like that one.
