Yeah we will see, but if i am not wrong the director of the donghua, said once in an interview that him and his team have a 10 to 20 year plan, to complete the donghua story.
The first novel alone is incredibly long. Fans calculating the current adaptation speed (roughly 2.5 to 3 novel chapters per episode) note that even a 10 to 12 year window might only cover the Human Realm arc.
If the team decides to adapt the second novel (The True Immortal Realm), community estimates suggest the donghua could easily run for 20 to 30 years in total to completely wrap up Han Li’s story. 🤷🏽♂️

Yeah but when you see the behind the scenes, for the action and the combat, it’s all the stunt crew who does it with the animation team. So it takes lot of time to make each episode. Unlike the other donghuas, the stunt crew uses the mocap suits to make every action and choregraphy fluid. 🤷🏽♂️
Sadly with the way things are going in the world we may not have that long.

This show really is paced as if it were one continuous movie. Kind of annoying when watching these episodes weekly, but I imagine when you get around to rewatching the whole thing, the pacing would be rather satisfying.
Still wish these episodes were at least 20minutes long, though.

If you are going to insult my position, at least get my position correct. Pacing has nothing to do with “…shonen bs fighting, no story,…” but rather how much unique content is shown through out a set of time. Which of course includes world building, character development, dialogue, story etc. Not just action and bits.
In movies there are acts and they are structured in a way that compliments their longer run times of 90 to 120 minutes of continues story telling before a break off point at the end.
TV shows are usually structure around a 22 minutes run time that both completes a plot or makes significant progress towards the completion of the plot as well setting up the next episode.
My personal opinion is that this show doesn’t properly pace out each episode like a typical 22 minute tv show does, but rather paces itself as if it were a movie that was cut up into 15 minute chunks.
Also, the whole “Just shut up and consume” way of thinking is boorish. Everyone can criticize something they enjoy. Those are not mutually exclusive.
(Even though I am not really criticizing the show, more like the viewing experience of having week long breaks between short episodes. If anything I am complaining that I can’t consume more of the show.)
