He might be, too. Dao Ma only saw him with his sister but for all I know, what you said is the most likely scenario, or why would they be so hot for his life? Sister might have been just the nursemaid, idk, just saying. It’s the thing that makes more sense.

right in the middle of the screen in every action scene? We know it’s not reality and isn’t meant to be emulated. The Chinese message itself is way off to the side of the screen and out of the way so as not to get in the middle of watching the fight scene.
As a matter of fact, maybe you could choose not to translate and subtitle it at all? 😀 Or if you really feel you must translate it and sub it, could you perhaps just put the disclaimer sub up for 1 or 2 seconds and then get rid of it? It’s terribly distracting and gets in the way of enjoying the amazing animation, and having it right there during every fight scene for the entire fight scene is really annoying!
