Haiyaa… So many shows are adding forced sex scenes via aphrodisiac or some magical pink substance in the air. I tolerated it when I saw it in Fanren/RMJI, then I rolled my eyes when Martial Universe used it, now this… It’s very cliche and reminds me of those terrible unending japanese romcom animes that can’t write decent romance.
By using this cliche, you’re taking the easy way out in properly showing the human rituals and process of developing love and just skipping right to sex, childbirth, and dad-gone-out-to-get-milk fighting. It just shows you as an author can’t write romance and have no confidence in your character’s ability to romance someone naturally.
Yea, taking the easy way out is lazy-ass behavior, but here, I think it’s done right, with Fairy Ziyue. There IS a slow romance built up between Mc n Fairy Ziyue 🤔
And I believe what’s about to happen is just fan-service for the viewers. But the main romance is there with Fairy Ziyue, no? 🧐
It’s actually pretty obvious in most shows that the MC is at his peak when he is either solo or accompanied by people who are not love interests. This will be the time when MCs progress in cultivation, and the plot has structure.
The authors don’t know how to write good love stories, but they keep forcing it, even at the expense of butchering the story like Apotheosis and that other one with Ye Chen.
It’s a pity that they have good animation budgets, but they just butcher the stories for fan service.
I don’t think anything will happen though, because similar scenarios have happened in other donghuas, but they were skipped/censored.
If I recall if fine for them to skip it since she is not one of ye fan’s wives or love interests.
